Change a Child's Story

Tutor a child at Brook Glenn Elementary School through our SCORE program.

Here's why:

About 10 years ago Peter Hubbard (teaching pastor at North Hills), felt a burden for our church to reach out to the community directly surrounding us. He didn’t have to go far. Just around the corner was Brook Glenn Elementary, a local public elementary school.

At first, the best way to serve the students at Brook Glenn was through an after-school program staffed by North Hills volunteers that focused on sports, tutoring, and Bible teaching. After a few years, the program was redeveloped to become a 3-year long program that students start in 3rd grade and finish in 5th. They meet weekly during the school year and in the summers participate in an 8-week long summer program. Along with reviewing math and language arts and learning to swim, our SCORE kids discover that their life is worth something now, in the future, and for eternity.

You can influence this next generation by investing in childre just one street over.  We’re looking for volunteers to help with tutoring every Thursday from 2:45-5 p.m. If those times don’t fit in with your schedule, please still contact SCORE Coordinator JP Camp. Please email SCORE coordinator JP Camp at

Score isn’t the only way North Hills serves Brook Glenn Elementary School. During the school year, we also host Good News Club, an evangelistic after-school program that’s put on through Child Evangelism Fellowship.

CEF meets every Wednesday afternoon, from 2-4:30 p.m., to sing songs, hear a Bible story, and share God’s love with about 50 children. Would you like serve with us? To find out more, email Ginger Evans at
