Family Worship Sundays: 11/17, 11/24, and 12/1

About Us

In 1991 a group of people gathered in a home at Thanksgiving. No one intended to start a church, but everyone desired to be together, grow in God’s Word, and reach out to the
community. This group would informally call themselves, “The Bible Church.”

Within weeks, the Lord led them to gather in an old church on East North Street which had recently been converted into a foot doctor’s office on the first floor. For several months, various teachers stepped forward to preach. Attendees brought folding chairs and lawn chairs for seating.

By the end of January 1992, God provided chairs, a choir, outreach opportunities, and a teaching pastor. The teaching began in the book of Ephesians with the goal of developing a church formed around the model described in the letter to the Ephesians.

In November 1992, one year from the first gathering, the church was officially formed as North Hills Community Church with 47 people sharing their salvation stories and signing as charter members. There was a hunger to learn God’s Word, a love for one another, and a heart to minister to the most vulnerable in our community.

a year later

The foot doctor/church building was no longer sufficient. North Hills moved across town into an old Winn Dixie grocery store building, featuring buckets sprinkled throughout the auditorium to catch the water on rainy days.

Within four years

God provided the current property on Edwards Road. Through his miraculous provision, North Hills purchased the land and built an auditorium that would hold the growing congregation.

Since then

North Hills Church continues to minister in our community and around the world by Believing God’s Word, Connecting with God’s Family, and Sharing God’s Story!
