LEAD Class- LGBTQ and the Christian

Dr. Rosaria Butterfield was a professor of English and Women’s Studies at Syracuse University. She identified as a lesbian, specialized in Queer Theory, and actively lobbied for LGBTQ+ legal advancements alongside her partner.

While meeting with a pastor and his wife in order to research the Religious Right, “and their politics of hatred,” she became a follower of Jesus!

Today Rosaria is an author, pastor’s wife, mother, and grandmother. She is the author of four books: The Secrets of an Unlikely Convert, Openness Unhindered, The Gospel Comes with a Housekey, and Five Lies of our Anti-Christian Age.

Rosaria will share her remarkable story of God’s grace, will help us understand the cataclysmic shift that has occurred against the Christian faith, and how real hope can be found in the gospel.

She will also discuss practical ways Christians can demonstrate the love of Jesus through hospitality.
