Sadly, the church has often been afraid to talk about gender and sexuality questions. Many Christians feel confused and divided between the call to love and the call for truth.
Many who struggle with unwanted same-sex attraction or gender dysphoria feel alone and alienated by the church. North Hills Church desires to be a place of love and light, compassion and truth. We would like to be a source of encouragement for lonely strugglers and their families. Below are some recommended resources.

North Hills Church hosts three forums each year. If you or someone you know is struggling with LGBTQ issues or if you just want to learn how to talk about difficult questions with grace and truth, this forum is for you. We explore current events and personal struggles through the lens of the Word of God in a respectful, truthful community.
Our teaching pastor, Peter Hubbard, has written a book entitled, Love Into Light: The Gospel, the Homosexual and the Church.
In his introduction Peter says, “Each of us experiences life differently. But when we fire our personal ‘marketing department’ and peel off our masks long enough to listen and share honestly with others, a new world opens up before us. Like the born-blind man who was healed by Jesus – suddenly voices have faces, and noises have authors. People cease to be shapeless labels – gay, straight, queer, breeder. The image of our Creator begins to shine through our brokenness. Self-righteous pastor-sinners and self-indulgent homosexual-sinners both look to Jesus, the Healer, who opens blind eyes so we both can begin to see clearly. This is my longing for the church.”
This book is for those who struggle with same-sex attraction, their families, those who minister to them, pastors and anyone who would like to understand and engage with grace and truth on this topic.
