Alan Bunn is the Pastor of Adult Ministries and oversees Encore Seniors Ministry, Crisis Ministry and OneAnother. He has served as an elder since 2002 and came on staff in 2004 as the Executive Pastor. Alan and his wife, Coralyn, came to North Hills in 1999. They have three children: Joseph, who went to be with the Lord in 2003, Daniel, and Gloria.
Alan’s father was in the Air Force, so he grew up in Alabama, Texas, Spain, Turkey, North Carolina and Florida. One of the highlights of his life during this time was a 16 day overland trip from Izmir, Turkey to Jerusalem, Israel. A chance meeting with a high school cross-country coach fueled his high school and college running career. He still loves to run as much as possible. Alan attended Mars Hill College and graduated in 1977 with a double-major in English and History. Alan met Coralyn later that summer when they both were working at Ridgecrest Baptist Conference Center. They married in August, 1978.
